Another Wax Resist Card

Here's the other wax resist card. It's neat how you can put cardstock on both sides of the wax paper, so that you can make two different cards.

Thought I would put the address of the tutorial so anyone interested could try it for themselves.  Used Tim Holtz Tumbled glass distress ink. Stamp is from Stampendous Ruffled Blossom set.

Wax paper technique

Gina K. demonstrated the waxed paper technique on Stamp TV today. I decided to try it again. I had tried it years ago but my results were not so good. Between Gina K.s wonderful videos and Tim Holtz' great distressing inks, the results were a whole lot better this time.

I love the textured look it gives to the card. Used Tim Holtz Gathered Twigs and Antique Linen for the colors. The chipboard accents are from Colorbok Wild Life.

I also did a piece with Tim Holtz tumbled glass. Will post that also when I finish it.

Personalized Set

I made a set of personalized cards for one of my daughters. Shannon loves personalized cards and she is always doing so much for everyone else, so I thought I would do something for her.

I got the idea when I emptied a cracker box and thought the bottom part would be perfect to hold greeting cards. I had a lot of this Ala Carte Persimmon cardstock by American Crafts. I used different Spellbinders and also used a Martha Stewart border punch. I also had a stamp of the letter S since my name starts with S, also.  I personalized the envelopes and lined them, also. I did learn from my mistakes on this set and maybe the next one will be easier!

You are Fabulous!!

Having trouble getting true colors with my scanner. I tend toward very vivid colors!
When you look at this remember that the colors are a lot more vivid than they appear here.

Used Cuttlebug Embossing folder Swiss Dots. Card base should be more pink like the pink vase and flowers. Stamp is from Hero Arts Perfume Bottles.

Graduation time

I realized graduation time would soon be upon us, so I thought I would get a head start
on graduations cards.

Used a Kraft card. Printed the sentiment with my computer. Used Spellbinders Fancy Tags, Labels 4 and Decorative Photo Corners. The scan does not show how shiny the black and gold papers are.

Masculine Card

I make lots of cards but most of them are for women. I never seem to have enough masculine cards, so today, I thought I would make one.

I used the Cape Hatteras Stamp from Stampendous. The greeting is from Kolette Hall.
For masculine cards you can never go wrong with lighthouses.

Faux Letterpress

There is a tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers on how to do the Faux Letterpress. Very easy to do and very easy to get elegant results. Here's my first attempt.

I used Tim Holtz  Crushed Olive Distress Ink. The Embossing folder is from Paper Studio and can be found at Hobby Lobby. The Spellbinders die is Lacy Squares.
The border paper punch is Martha Stewart Arch Lattice Border punch. Stamp is from SU Elegant Greetings.

I liked this technique so much that I decided the matching envelope would make it even better. I also did this in five other colors. This is an easy technique and would be great to used when making multiple cards.

Friends

A friend came over and we stamped together. Stampng is fun but it is even more fun when you have some one to do it with. We made several cards and I thought I would share some with you.

Made both the cards with cream card stock. The background paper is from Colorbok Best Friends Brights. The flower is Hero Arts Two Flourish Flowers.

This next card is just one I had made a long time ago and it seemed to need something else so I add the frame.

The butterfly was stamped on Vellum in detail white and then colored with markers from underneath. The frame is Spellbinders Scalloped Edge Frame.
